DENTAL BONDING
What is dental bonding?
Dental bonding is a quick and simple procedure involving dental composites or white-colored fillings directly bonded onto the surfaces of natural teeth. The composite resin used in bonding is perfectly polished and constructed to blend in seamlessly with the surrounding teeth. Dental bonding is a great and affordable way to revamp the appearance of your teeth.
What is the dental bonding process?
Since dental bonding is mainly a cosmetic procedure, the initial consultation with Dr. Behazin will be to discuss your smile concerns and goals. Once overall goals are established, a dental resin color that best matches your natural teeth will be selected. Next, Dr. Behazin will carefully etch your tooth to create a rough texture, which will make it easier for the liquid and composite to stick. The composite resin will then be added to the area and molded to repair the damage. A dental laser UV light is used to harden the bonding material. Lastly, we will trim, shape, and polish the resin to ensure the material blends in with the rest of the tooth surface. It is imperative during the first 48 hours of the teeth bonding procedure to steer clear of tooth staining materials such as coffee, red wine, tea, and cigarette smoke, which can easily stain the resin and undo the dentist's work. Bonded teeth are cared for just like your other teeth, which includes daily brushing and flossing.
